My Major & Career Coals

Major- Exercise Science

Currently, I am majoring in exercise science with a pre-physical therapy track. With this degree I plan on going into animal physical therapy to work with different types of animals who need rehabilitation. My athletic background was a major contributor to the reason why I chose to pursue this field. I was involved in many sports in high school and was always extremely active. I enjoy everything about fitness and learning about how our bodies work. I chose this major because I believe it fits my interests and personality very well. I have also always been very intrigued by animals and the way they behave. As a kid I always dreamed of becoming a vet, but I realized the amount of schooling and education needed and I wasn't sure I wanted to go down that path. I also came to find out that I do not do good with surgeries; I nearly passed out trying to suture a pigs hoof. I have continued to keep that dream in the back of my mind though and when I came across animal rehabilitation I instantly knew I would love to do that! With all this being said, this major requires a doctorate of physical therapy track, so my main goal is to work hard in college to create a strong academic background for applying to PT schools!

Minor- Buisness

I also decided to minor in business. I chose to minor in business because this will open up a lot of opportunities for me and my career. I will have the knowledge and credentials to possibly open up my own Animal Rehabilitation one day in the future. I will also have an understanding of how business works and this can help with the hiring process of possible practices I would like to start at. My main goal with this minor is to graduate from college with a doctorate of physical therapy, start working at a animal physical therapy center, and then eventually open my own practice for animal rehabilitation!
